The personification of anger in the Quran

"And when the anger became silent at Mûsa (Moses), he took up the Tablets, and in their inscription was guidance and mercy for those who fear their Lord." [7:157]

Az-Zamakhshari says, "[The Quran talks about this incident] as if the anger was telling Musa: Say this to your people! Throw down the tablets! Seize your brother's head by the hair!."

This personification is what gives the verse its strong impact on the reader.
