Amazingly well-written, simple, honest and well-researched are just some of the qualities that make this book so special. Sayyid Qutb, From Birth to Martyrdom (سيد قطب من الميلاد إلى الإستشهاد) is an Arabic book written by Dr. Salah Abdul Fattah AlKhalidi (د. صلاح عبد الفتاح الخالدي), a researcher who spent 15 years studying Sayyid Qutb's life and works.

During the days when I read this 600 page account, I felt like I was literally living with Sayyid Qutb as he grew up from a clever and courageous village boy to a formidable literary critic (a 25 year episode of his life that Arabic and Western popular media painstakingly hide), to a social and political reformer, and finally to a devout and fearless Muslim activist.
