Prophet Ibraheem is my favorite prophet after Prophet Muhammad. Allah describes him as gentle and kind. He argued with the angels about Prophet Lot's people, he tried to protect them, even though he knew they were disbelievers and that they deserved punishment.
We should follow Prophet Ibraheem in his kindness and gentleness, because we are his followers (through Prophet Muhammad), as the Quran calls us:
Say: “Verily, my Lord hath guided me to a way that is straight,- a religion of right,- the path (trod) by Abraham the true in Faith, and he (certainly) joined not gods with Allah.”
Say: “Truly, my prayer and my service of sacrifice, my life and my death, are (all) for Allah, the Cherisher of the Worlds” [Holy Quran, 6:161, 162]
