So true Brother Kurdi!Even some of my classmates here, they try to corrupt me or they are happy when they see or hear of Muslims who drink or "go out" (clubbing, bar-hopping, etc). Glad tidings to the Strangers!
Because we Muslims are a "threat" to non-Muslims by providing a standard against which they can measure their lives. They can see how pious Muslims can be, insha'allah, how many vices they debase themselves with compared to that of Muslims, and they realize that Muslims are different, better. And they don't like that. They would rather we lower ourselves to their level, so they can feel more comfortable and ignore what's wrong with their lives.
basically, it's saying once you blend with their culture you are no longer a "threat" (as in a person who becomes a role model among people. therefore, negating the potential we have of becoming a role model among our peers which is what it means by "ignore you" (from quote)

I don't get it. Mind elaborating?? Thanks :)
Sure. :) Some people feel threatened by you if they see you change into a better person. So they want you to fit in with them instead of changing.
